Shuddh Desi Romance Movie Preview

This Friday will see a Chopra weekend as the Chopra sisters of Bollywood, Priyanka and Pareeniti, will be seen in a direct face-off at the Box Office.
A remake of the 1973 eponymous film, Apoorva Lakhia’s “Zanjeer” marks the Bollywood debut of popular southern star Ram Charan Teja, who steps into a role originally essayed by megastar Amitabh Bachchan. He shares screen space with Priyanka Chopra, Prakash Raj and Sanjay Dutt.
Competing with it will be Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) “Shuddh Desi Romance”, which stars a refreshing cast of Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra and newcomer Vaani Kapoor.
Story line: Shuddh Desi Romance” revolves around three characters based in Jaipur and talks about conflicts between love and commitment.
Talking about the film, Sushant Singh Rajput said, “Here the emotions are very real. Everyone who falls in love has these thoughts. These things have never been told in such an honest way.”
The actor describes “Shuddh Desi Romance” as a different love story.
“In the last 20-25 years, all love stories have been shot outside India and everything is very perfect. The minute details are not shown.
This movie talks about coflicts between love and commitment,” he said.
‘Romance’ with Rishi Kapoor was toughest for Sushant

Sushant will be seen with two actresses in “Shuddh Desi Romance”, but he says creating ‘romance’ with veteran actor Rishi Kapoor was challenging for him.
“When I met both of them, they already knew and were ready to create that romance. But the real problem I had in creating romance was with Rishi Kapoor,” the 28-year-old said here Sunday in an interview.
“It was toughest to create romance with Rishi-ji,” he added.
Rishi plays a Marwari wedding planner in “Shuddh Desi Romance”, which is directed by Maneesh Sharma.
I play sensible, sorted girl in ‘Shuddh…’: Parineeti
Even if the promos and songs may be showing Parineeti Chopra as a chirpy young girl, but actually she plays a quiet and sensible girl in the movie.
She said that in the promos, she can be seen as a “happy” and “bubbly” girl, “but in the film I am playing a completely different person”.
“I am a very sensible and sorted human being, probably more sorted than the other two (characters – played by Sushant Singh Rajput and Vaani Kapoor) with me. Very quiet, so you will see a new side of me,” added the 24-year-old.
Parineeti will be seen in a live-in relationship with her onscreen boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput in the movie.
What experts say?
Admitting that both Zanjeer and Suddh… are of a different genre, the experts said they will do well with their own audience.
“‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ is going to be more for metro cities. ‘Zanjeer’, being an action film, will target smaller centres which like action films. This will be the divide in the audience,” experts said.
Mumbai-based trade analyst Amul Mohan says the movies might release in 1,600-1,700 screens.
At a time when the box office is flourishing thanks to films like “Chennai Express”, “Madras Cafe” and “Satyagraha”, the new releases are likely to maintain a decent stay in theatres. Made at an approximate budget of around Rs.30 crore to Rs.40 crore each, the films are also expected to hit an equal number of big screens.
‘Satyagraha’ and ‘Madras Cafe’ are still running in theatres. I believe ‘Zanjeer’ and ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ will have a good second week play as well,”
